The Product Story

Omari has created The Brave Life T-Shirt in an effort to empower individuals around the world to stand up and speak out about the issue of domestic violence. The “Wing” design represents one’s ability to fly away and be free from the confines of abuse and hardship.

"I got (my tattoo) when I lost a son some years ago and I lost a brother within the same year.”

The wing extends down his shoulder to signify “a moment of me just feeling like I needed to free myself from that pain...I fall asleep thinking this is me passing my wing in my flesh to the spirits and the hearts and the souls of these women who have been battered and been affected by domestic violence.”

“Brave” is inscribed on the women’s shirt to signify the bravery it takes to stand up against abuse. Life, written across the men’s sleeve, signifies the lives of the victims of abuse who shall never be forgotten or overlooked.

An excerpt from an original poem by Omari appears in the inside neck label reading:

“The only difference between an angel and a fallen one... is the honor of the man. And the only difference between them is some have skin that's tan.”

We are all on a quest to live a BRAVE LIFE. Join Omari now in his stand against Domestic Abuse and start living your brave life now!

The Cause

On average, 3 women die everyday in the US from DV.

Every 9 seconds in the US a woman is assaulted or beaten.

The cost of domestic violence amounts to more than $37 billion a year in law enforcement involvement, legal work, medical and mental health treatment, and lost productivity at companies.

The issue of domestic violence is one that affects every community, every country and every demographic throughout the world. A portion of the proceeds from this sale will be directed to the Jenesse Center Inc.

Located in Los Angeles, the Jenesse Center has over 35 years of experience defending and fighting for victims of domestic abuse. Jenesse advocates the basic human right for all people to have peace in their homes and relationships. The organization’s culturally sensitive programs and services not only transition families from crisis to self- sufficiency, but transforms the lives of its clients and the community at large by offering education, referrals and resources that go beyond shelter. Housing women and children from 30 days up to two years through our emergency and transitional shelters, Jenesse also provides a variety of support services, including mental health counseling, independent life skills classes, computer training, job referrals, after school programs for children, field trips, tutoring and comprehensive, direct legal services. Jenesse takes a proactive stance in educating young people to learn what healthy relationships look like and works to break the generational cycle of violence.
